My own journey with somatic work started when I was a young lawyer in my twenties, dealing with a stressful and demanding caseload in a profession where making a mistake could have catastrophic consequences – the worst possible environment for a self-doubting perfectionist! I lived in constant fear of getting something wrong and found it very hard to switch off from work.
